"Cadere is a lush and widescreen ambient single detailed with subtly uplifting chords coated in lo-fi hiss and a decidedly spiritual edge."

"There’s a special kind of magic that happens with Dawn Chorus and the Infallible Sea. A musical alchemy occurs within the lush sound layers, processed noise, and ethereal melodies that emanate from their songs. My first experience with this ambient music project was their 2020 release Liberamente, which came to us via Azure Vista Records. The music created on that album by composers Zach Frizzell,
Marc Ertel, and Damien Duque was revelatory to my ears.
Arriving at a time where chaos and fear were on every news channel and we were isolating from one another Dawn Chorus and the Infallible Sea’s Liberamente brought a kind of sonic peace on that record. That record was a pocket of slow motion and calm; still clouds of circuital bliss that calmed my worried brain.
Liberamente was my musical Fortress of Solitude.
Since then Zach, Marc, and Damien have ignited an ambient/new age resurgence over on Past Inside The Present and Zakè Drone Recordings. Picking up where forward-thinking labels like Windham Hill and American Gramaphone, as well as progressive jazz labels ECM and CTI left off. Working either on solo albums or collaborating together in other projects, these musicians/composers have redefined what ambient music can be.
Dawn Chorus and the Infallible Sea are returning in spring of 2024 with a brand new long player. Until then they are gifting us with a single from this forthcoming album. “Cadere” is subtle, evocative brilliance.
“Cadere” works in the same sonic parameters as what came before on albums like Liberamente and Alpha, yet there’s something else at work here. This ambient collective work in more of a cinematic landscape here; still retaining that amorphous approach to composition but showing distinct melodic motives. “Cadere” leans on emotional heft, bringing to mind composers like Vangelis and Jóhann Jóhannsson. The heady intent remains, but with the added bonus of a beating heart at the center of this sonic cloud.
“Cadere” can be purchased digitally or as a 3″ mini CD housed in a 3.5″ matte heavyweight black box. The archival quality box features a .058 caliper black chip interior with a square cotton insert. Each CD comes with a download link and code. Besides “Cadere” there is a live version of the track “Alpha”, which is the title track of the band’s debut release(find it here.)
Whenever there’s new music from Dawn Chorus and the Infallible Sea there’s much to rejoice. This music collective are doing great things sonically, spiritually, and emotionally in their songs. “Cadere” continues what this musical project began over three years ago. This is church for those that aren’t religious; worship music for the humanist.
A musical escape of the highest order."
