Collection: Purl

The first of many aliases to emerge from the multifaceted artist Ludvig Cimbrelius, Purl is a living echo of the tender and persistent sounds of the forgiving landscapes that would envelop him in his youth.
Growing up in a world that often felt hostile and confusing to him, Ludvig found his refuge in nature. Lost among trees, resting in the sounds of rivers and brooks, he forgot about everything except the beauty that surrounded him. Nature reflected back something deep within himself that he had lost touch with—the perennial peace that is the foundation of all existence.
Ludvig took the name Purl for the music that was flowing through him at the time, as a tribute to the natural sounds that had reminded him of the unimpeded flow; the essence of life. His intention is the same now as it was then: to be a vessel for our true nature to be felt and expressed through patterns of sound.
Connected to his childhood visions—more so than the numerous subsequent avenues Ludvig has explored in giving form to an never-ending flow of musical ideas—Purl in some ways remains a familiar root that reminds him of his origins here on Earth; connected deep in the layers of an inner soil that continues to nurture him and the thousands of listeners around the world who have all found their haven within Purl’s bountiful rivers of sound.
